Reporting to ICIS the State Share of Penalties for Joint Federal/State Enforcement Actions.


As a result of a GAO audit concluded in FY 2008, beginning in FY 2009 the Regions and HQ are required to report into ICIS the state “share” of penalties assessed in federal civil judicial cases that a state has joined as a co-plaintiff. In ICIS, the state share of the penalty is entered on the Final Order basic information screen in the Formal Enforcement module. From the Final Order basic information screen select the “Penalty” link located just below the tabs at the top of the screen. On the penalty screen there is a data field identified as “State/Local Penalty.” Enter the state’s portion of the penalty into this field. See the ICIS screen shot below:
