Reporting Direct and Preventative Environmental Benefits for CAA Mobile Source Formal Enforcement Actions (04.02.2008)

Ability to Report Direct and Preventative Environmental Benefits for CAA Mobile Source Formal Enforcement Actions

Purpose:  EPA enforces the Clean Air Act Title II provisions governing motor vehicles, fuels, and engines.  Previously, ICIS users could not enter direct or preventative environmental benefits into the database for cases associated with law sections CAA §202, §203, §208, §211, §213 and §219.  For mobile source cases, these benefits are reported in pounds or pounds per year of pollutants reduced or eliminated

Data Entry:  ICIS users can now enter quantified direct and/or preventative environmental benefits into ICIS on the “Complying Action/Inj Relief” screen located within the Final Order screen.

Data Retrieval:  Headquarters will use the new "Direct and Preventative Environmental Benefits" report in the Environmental Benefit QA Reports folder in ICIS FE&C to populate the “Final Pull Number” column in the certification workbook.  Note, this report includes benefits from SEPs and replaces the three reports: "Direct Environmental Benefits," "Preventative Environmental Benefits," and "Environmental Benefits from SEPs" that previously had been posted in ICIS.
