Establishing your ICIS User ID and Password

For access to ICIS, all users are required to obtain a User ID and Password.

ICIS has been integrated with EPA's Single Sign On system called WAM. For EPA personnel, you are already registered with a User ID and Password. State/LCON/and Tribal personnel will need to register to have a User ID and Password assigned to them.

Before a User ID and Password can be assigned, you will need to know who your respective ICIS System Administrator is, as they will need to approve your request. If you do not know who your ICIS System Administrator is, please visit ICIS System Contacts.

Also, all users must first read, sign, and submit the Rules of Behavior to their respective ICIS System Administrator. For more information on that topic, please visit Requesting Access.

For State/LCON/and Tribal Users:

Access the EPA Portal to Register for a new WAM id   (User id and Password)

Click on “Self-Register”

Enter all the required fields, and put the EPA Contact information (choose one).

REMEMBER THE PASSWORD THAT YOU CREATE when registering for a WAM id.

You will receive an email that your user id is pending.

When the ICIS System Administrator approves your request, you will receive an email with your new WAM id.  

Forward the approved email with your new WAM id to the System Administrator above. 

ICIS User id   (for access to ICIS database)

User needs to let the ICIS System Administrator know what their roles will be and if they want to be in the database as a Government Contact.   In addition, if you need Sensitive Access a memo needs to be sent to EPA HQ at icis@epa.gov and cc the ICIS System Administrator. 

When your ICIS account is completed, the ICIS System Administrator will notify the user that their ICIS account has been established.

For EPA Users:

WAM ID – for user id and password

Log on to the EPA Portal                               waa.epa.gov

Enter your LAN user id and Password

Click on “Community Access” and choose “Request Access to Communities”

Choose your ICIS Region Community, SAVE

You will receive an email when you account has been approved.

Let the ICIS System Administrator know what roles you need, if you need access to Sensitive Data (enforcement actions & inspections) and if you want to be in the database as a Government Contact.

When your ICIS account is completed, the ICIS System Administrator will notify the user that their ICIS account has been established.
